Where The Rainbows Are At Home | Info + Comments (24)

Today I'm happy to publish this image, as it happens to be best one I did so far in my opinion. It has almost everything. A castle, the sea, rocks, clouds, a boat, a sunrise, two rainbows, a causeway and so on.

The story to the image you can read in more detail on my blog if you want to.

I shot this with a 3 Stop Grad Hard filter and tried to align the tripod as level as possible. To get a better angle I had to pull out the tripod in the middle to the max. I usually try to avoid this as it makes the camera less steady. It was rather windy on that location and two of the 11 images are a little blurry due to camera shake. I'm not sure whether the shake was introduced from the heavy wind or due to the rotation and I have not waited long enough on those two images for the camera to get steady again. Luckily one of those images could be left out since I had enough overlap with the images before and after. The other one causes only a little bit of blur, which you can see at 100% only.

For the final image I then used 9 images from those 11 and did some basic level, curves adjustments in Photoshop. Nothing really spectacular.

And yes...before anyone asks in the comment... I did NOT paint them in ;-)

Also I would like to draw attention to the little competition I have going on here. Look for the details in this post.

I hope you like and thanks for visiting.

Well worth the wait. Its a great image and truly reflects the area I know so well. My drive to work everyday was along this coastline for 12 miles. The sea always looked its best on stormy days.

Nice composition and colours; maybe a bit too much saturation (or why are the stones in the middle so yellow?).
