Where The Grass Grows Green | Info + Comments (29)

To my own surprise, I just realized that this is already my 99th image here on my blog!

I took this in an old, vanished industry location near the city of Pateniemi. There are no buildings left there, just the decaying shore line. It's a nice location to explore but unfortunately I was late and didn't had too much time there. I will go back there though, once the conditions are right.

What is interesting here, that I spotted this location, by using the "Birds View" feature on Live Maps. So I had some idea what to expect before I arrived there without me leaving the apartment. This made location scouting a lot faster, though it takes the sport out of it.

Notes on the processing: Some color adjustments in Lightroom followed by some level adjustments in Photoshop to bring back detail in the rocks and the wood.

Thanks for visiting my site and I hope you like my images.

I really like the feeling I get out of this image - it's almost cold, but it a warm sort of way...if that makes any sense at all! I also like the details that you were able to bring out of the rocks and wood - but it's not so distracting and/or bright as to take away from the image as a whole.

The silky smooth water resulting from the 8 sec exposure make this a very tranquil peaceful image. I am intrigued by the horizon, it has a definite curve yet the focal length was 17 mm, not a very wide angle, so seems odd.

There are already quite some people having taken such a picture but this is definitely one of my favorites. Great work.

Beautiful softness to the water and great clarity in the rest of the shot. The subtle blue tones work so well in this shot as well.

Fantastic shot. Love the water and the composition with the rocks and poles. The colors in the sky and the clouds on the horizon are great too.

Excellent. I really like how you time the exposure to give the water that "silkiness" effect.

This is a very nicely composed image with great foreground detail. And the blue color cast kinda looks just right for this one, really. The only thing i'd suggest would be to correct the lens distortion in PS. I mean the bent horizon. Just a friendly advice :-)
Beautiful image.

Das Bild ist fantastisch. Die Farben sind schön kräftig und die Detail in den Steinen sind auch noch zu erkennen. Das Wasser ist super weich. Gefällt mir sehr.
