Another one from my trip to Cornwall.

I really don't know why I post this, from all the possible images that I have available. I'm not really happy with the composition but somehow something makes me return to this image over and over again. I guess it's something about the hidden detail in the front under the incoming wave and how the movement of the water corresponds with the structures in the sky. I don't know... Maybe I'm getting nuts.

If you are interested into more details of this and some more images, I'd like invite you over to my blog where I have posted so far one little article if you will of my trip, with a second one following during this night or at the latest tomorrow. Also I would like to point out that later today I will post a little bit of a give-away or competition.

As far as the post-processing goes, I have adjusted the white balance and some vibrancy/clarity in Lightroom with then followed by some minor color adjustments in LAB mode using Photoshop. Nothing exciting really.

I hope you like it also (I mean this with this one more than ever) and thanks for visiting.

Update: Now I actually uploaded the "dust-brushed" version....

Another fine image. The colours in the sea are stunning. As for the Composition i think it works fine.

I think I understand your frustration with the composition. I can't exactly say what is wrong with it but something bothers me as well.

On the other hand, the balance between the rocks in the water and clouds in the sky really works for me. It is the part that makes the image and despite the slight problems in composition I'd be proud to call an image like this my own. Now I'll just have to say good shot to you ;)

I like it! May be you could get a better composition but the overall image is still very good, what I like the most is the water and it "smoky" effect ;)

Beautiful photo. I really enjoy how that water appears as smoke or mist floating over the racks. Great work!

Have to say I am happy with the comp, I have shot near there, its so difficult to decide what to shoot there is so much to take in. I really like the minimal PP too. Nice capture

Nice picture ! Sorry for telling it in french but I'm tired and I can't translate all my comment in english...
Je crois que le premier plan est trop présent...
Je trouve que l'image fonctionne mieux en éliminant les tiers inférieur et supérieur ou en utilisant un format carré. Histoire de goût !

I think the compo is ok and I'm glad you've posted this one - it's beautiful.

I don't understand why you are not happy with this photo. It's a classical composition well done and with beautiful tones.

Yes, there's something not quite right here. The sky is lovely, the rocks and rushing water are beautiful and that turquoise horizon is amazing. Oh, I know what the problem is - I didn't take the photo! ;^)

So very nice! Are you using hard grads? My Lee soft grads are so scratched they are useless. Ugh!

Gefällt mir von deinen Urlaubsfotos bisher am besten. Das Zusammenspiel von den Pastellfarben im Bild gefällt mir gut!

Fortunately you posted the photo! Really great angle and the colours...

I see what you mean about the composition (though it really isn't that bad). It's the lighting that makes me really gravitate towards this image...the color and perfect contrast of the soft light on the rocks. Beautiful.
