The Wildest Place | Info + Comments (24)

well.... it's not the wildest place ever, but at least the wildest that I found (kudos Markus) so far. I took this on my last shooting like the last two posts. I'm afraid I'm going to bore you with some more images from that place in the future.

Also I would like to thank you all for the kind comments on my last posts. I'm very happy about your motivating comments.

I hope you like it, and thanks for viewing.

Handsome tones, and the swirl of water is superb.

Posted by milou on May 27, 2008 at 07:41 PM EEST #

Wonderful! The amount of movement in the water is just right, a great scene.

Wow! great power , the river looks super swollen/high with water, loving the subtle colours and motion you've captured.

Posted by hixster on May 30, 2008 at 02:36 AM EEST #

The water effect is startling, as is the light. Compositionally it doesn't quite work for me - perhaps the water, appearing to flow straight across the bottom of the screen, in and out of the frame, blocks the rest of the scene too much?

Also, where are we? I've looked at some of your image descriptions and your about page, but you never tell us where these terrific locations are. Where is 'this place' and that 'that place' - frustrating!

@Simon: Thanks for your visit and your comment. Shooting this particular shot, is/was apparently only possible from that rock I was standing on. Other views would have either revealed a bridge (which I wanted to avoid) or would have me seriously wet ;-).
You are right, for some reason, I have not mentioned where the locations actually are. Don't know why. I will include some info about that in the future. This particular shot, was taken in a place called Koitelinkoski.

Wow! Breath taking. Very impressive.

Sven - thanks for the info. A quick google reveals Koitelinkoski is in Northern Finland.

Finding the perfect vantage point can be difficult and frustrating... and sometimes it's not 100% possible.
