I have decided to post a little earlier than usual today.
After two years of car-less living I finally got a new old car and it starts to become one of my most important photographic gear as I can finally get to more interesting locations, and am not limited anymore to my bike.
I found this waterfall called Hepököngas through Google Earth already in winter and since I had some free time recently I took a little trip to this location. It's a very beautiful place, a little difficult though to get a good frame and to get a decent exposure.
Originally I tried to turn this into a panorama, as this image is the result of seven individual ones, but I couldn't get as much space to the left as I hoped it would be possible. The sun came already from a rather low angle and made a decent exposure there very difficult. Therefore I had to crop a little to get a decent composition.
After editing a color version, I opted for a B&W here, which I definitely preferred. When it's black and white it's art, isn't it? ;-)
I have a long list of beautiful locations here, and hope to find the time and the right conditions during this summer, to get some decent frames.
I hope you like it and thanks for visiting.

I am not sure, but maybe a bit more space for the trees (to see the tops) would have been interesting as well (if possible) ?
wish you a great summer, just go on exploring and send us your beautiful results ;)

I'm not sure more space for the trees would be better.
Well done

Curious as to how you developed this as B&W in PS.

First of I have to excuse myself for such a late reply. Had been very busy at work and the weather was good most of time, so I went out a lot to get some images. With the current sunset at midnight and sunrise at 3am it's hard to get sleep at all.
@Velu: The conversion was done in Lightroom exclusively. Basically I zeroed the saturation for each color individually and then played around with the luminance sliders for each color, to make it brighter or darker. Afterwards I added a little bit of a tint to the shadows and hightights.
@Riika: Nice one. Seems I have to drive even further ;-). Going to Kilpisjärvi next week. Have you been there?
@Massimo: Thanks, enjoying the comparison
:-)
