Little Cudden | Info + Comments (13)

Usually, when doing my landscape photography I tend to shoot only during the happy hour in the morning or evening, so this image is a rarity in my library. Also from last trip to Cornwall, I took this in the middle of the day when taking a rest after hiking a couple of hours to Cudden Point. And a nice place to rest it is!

I used the chance to take a little video clip (stupid enough in time lapse, but that's a totally different story) and this panorama.

Later that evening I went to the spot that I scouted out, but all these nice clouds had disappeared by that time already. Either way I kind of like this summer feeling in this image, even though it looks like a postcard.

As for the processing I have done some minor adjustments in Lightroom and naturally merged the images in Photoshop with some final and subtle tweaking in LAB mode. For those interested in what and how I do things like this I would like to point you to a tutorial that I have made in German language as a guest blogger on Fotoholiker here, or feel free to visit my blog during the next week where I will post the same screencast in English.

I hope that the next image that I can post is something new and fresh from here. I have scouted out some new and hopefully nice locations and spring seems to be around the corner now. Hopefully all the snow will melt away pretty soon. Well... I can hope can I?

Thanks for visiting and I hope you like it.

Schaut ja eigentlich recht sommerlich aus, aber ich vermute, der Schein trügt und es war nicht wirklich warm. Trotzdem schön.

Stunning, breathtaking !!!! I could print a giant copy and cover a complete wall with it.

Rules are made to be broken and shooting at the 'wrong' time of day has produced a very nice image. We can enjoy the shape of the land, the colours of the grass, rocks and sea. We can imaging the clouds drifting across the sky and the gentle swell of the tide. We do not need dawn or sunset to set the scene alight - it is beautiful as seen.

Thank you so much for your comments.

@ Eric & Mike: This time of day really worked well here. The light wasn't so harsh and has lit the scene just nicely without to big contrast. As a result the sea got this beautiful color. It was very nice to have a rest there.
@Mickes: Reminds of summer too. Still hoping at the moment though....
@Matthias: Vielen Dank. Es war tatsächlich sehr warm. Es war der wärmste Tag in diesem Jahr für mich bisher ;-)

Beautiful wild lanscape, tempered by the calm sea and the nice little fuzzy clouds in the sky. Just want to sit there for a while and dream...
