Another image from my little shooting in Koitelinkoski.

The whole evening while I was there, the sky had only a few clouds. But just around/after sunset some more clouds showed up the sky went totally crazy. It didn't last too long, but long enough to get a few shots from there. The dynamic range was rather big, which didn't make it any easier. I think I used two filters with together 5stops here.

I hope you like and thanks for visiting my site.

Update: I just updated this image with a slightly different edit.

What an exquisite photo. The color and the movement of the water combine to give a very strong and powerful image.

Great work Sven! I missed this one on your photoblog til just today. I really like how you use the dynamic range to your advantage without over-doing it to look "special effecty". I also love the long exposure to get the soft flowing water. This is a very pleasing image to look at....as most of your images are!

Sven .. your photo's are unbelievable .. a true inspiration to me! What does this mean "I think I used two filters with together 5stops here." (in your description above). What lens did you use. Fantastic photo .. all of your's are! I will be a new frequent visitor to your site from now on!

Thanks a lot people for your kind words, and I'm very glad that you like my images.
@Lise: What I have been using here, are Gradual Neutral Density filters. Basically those filters darken one part of the image (usually the sky) to hold back the exposure in the sky to compensate for the dynamic range within the frame. Without them the camera would not be able to render the whole scene. I hope this helps.

Fantastischer Himmel und die LZB des Wassers macht das ganze recht surreal.

Excellent light and composition. If anything it would perhaps be nice to see just a little more space to the left so the foreground rock is framed more by the water.
