After a few weeks, I finally had the time to go out shooting again. The weather on that day was crazy. In the morning we had a snowstorm again, and in the evening we had this. It was a great, calm and silent atmosphere out there.

I spotted this place in the middle of winter and now finally the ice has disappeared, and what a inspiring place this is. I will go there more often. Here I like also the little island with the house in the middle of the lake. Such a beautiful place.

Hey Sven. This is a beautiful scene you captured here. The stillness of the water makes it seem so surreal. Where was this taken, by the way? My only criticism would be compositionally. I love that the horizon is in the top third of the frame, but the branches from the tree in the foreground cover and distract from the background cluster of trees. Aside from that, just beautiful!

I know what you mean. I'm not happy about the branches myself, unfortunately there was no possible way to get them out of the frame, because they were too long and hanging rather low and cutting them off wasn't really an option ;-) I have some other frames of this one, which I will publish here later.
This is a small lake called Niilesjärvi near Oulu/Finland.
