It's that time of the year..

It's close to christmas now and the year slowly comes to an end. Usually at this time of the year when probably most blogs will post or will already have posted some sort of summary of this year and so will I.

This has been a very exciting year for me here on the blog and more importantly for my photography. It started with a surprise with this blog being in the finals of the Photoblog awards in the category Landscapes. Something that I was absolutely surprised of as I found myself in the company of my favorite photoblogs. This was followed by being listed by Smashing Magazine in their post about "50 Wonderful, Inspiring Photoblogs". Not sure what was going during that time, but I couldn't be happier about that.

In late February I took my first trip to the beautiful landscapes of Cornwall to take photographs. Lady luck was with me and I was blessed with good light most of the time and on the last day of my trip I managed to capture the image I didn't even dreamed of capturing. To quote one of my favorite photographers David Noton: "You got to be there when lady luck shows around"

Back home in Finland I started to process the images, and still until today I'm not done (considered the current weather conditions I consider this a blessing).

During the late-starting spring around here I explored more local landscapes and finally did my first trip to Norway, followed by a second one in late July. What a beautiful scenery that was. And again... Still a lot of images to process but at least one video is finished.

The blog has seen it's 1000th's comment in March and seen multiple re-designs with a final, also not entirely done (lot's of beta around here ;-) ) and the installment of a logo, courtesy of Stephan Sachs, aka Fischimglas.

Additionally I have been starting a little bit (admittedly little bit) of video-blogging and also launched, moved and then re-launched a live blog and integrated that one into this blog.

All in all it has been a very successful year and there are big plans for the future with more trips to Norway, Scotland are planned and much more. I hope that my work-life keeps me not too busy so that I can pull all this off.

I have two more posts in this category upcoming. Let's see, when I manage to finish them ;-).

Until then, see you around and thanks for visiting and being here during this year and have a nice Christmas.
